Optishot 2 Vs SkyTrak Review Comparison 2020

So, having a look at the 2 devices, and our first impressions of the optishot 2, it’s a cost-effective and easy to use golf simulator that allows you to play virtual rooms at home. It comes with a sensor mat, two foam balls, two adjustable rubber tees, a 10 foot adjustable USB cable, and you get the software as well.

The skytrak is a bit more sophisticated, it’s a photometric launch monitor an indoor golf simulator, and you get a free driving range simulator with it. It allows you to measure your performance at home, or at the range, and it also integrates with various golf simulator software’s, and to allow you to play virtual rooms, and it’s also very competitively priced compared to the competition key features of the optishot 2.

The Optishot 2

So, it’s a durable good quality match that is very simple to set up and use. It tracks clubhead speed,  clubface angle, and the path and distance of your strikes with surprising accuracy. You can use the real form or no ball at all witness. You just change the setting on the software, and the software is not too heavy and demanding on your laptop.

You can play the optishot too with just the mat and the balls, or you can get it as part of golf in a box package, with different nets and projectors, and an extra mat included. You can play 15 courses at home by yourself for free, or multiplayer online with anyone else who has the optishot 2, and you can buy extra courses for $29.99.

But you can also try it out for free three times first. You can change settings like weather, grass length,  and all that, and you can even make the courses. If you don’t have space to swing, the tray in your house or garage, putting is not the best as with almost all other simulators. But you can set this to within a certain distance of the hole to make that a bit easier.

That reveals more expensive options like the trackman which costs about 20 grand. It can be considered a personal version of the usual commercial technology LED Trackman, and you can use it at home or on the range.

It connects to the skytrak app on your phone, tablet, or laptop, and you get a free driving range sim with it. But it also integrates with various sort of golf simulator software is, like E6 Connect, and orders for an unrivaled home golf simulator experience.

The app is free but you need to pay more for the advanced features, and integrated software. As we said, like the E6, TGC 2009 team, and job WGT, it comes with a level on top of the box. So, it has to be level when you’re hitting to ensure accuracy, but the level allows you to ensure that, and if you get the protection case, you can also raise it to the level off the ball when it’s on a tee.

The app is great, and it records your data over time to see how you’re performing, and the skytrak game improvement plan, costs $99 per year.

Pros and cons of the optishot

Starting with the pros is the cheapest accurate simulator by a long way on the market. At $300 get plenty of free courses to improve your game soul or a multiplayer. A piece of news from the day, one con, the pudding is not the best or the most reliable. The graphics are only okay, but again it’s not too heavy on your laptop, and you need to pay extra for the extra courses.

Pros and cons of the skytrak

So, it’s a quality accurate launch monitor and simulator, fire cheaper, and competitors which cost about 20 grand. You can build your own home golf course. Almost exactly like the real thing. You can play at home or take it to the driving range with you, but you need to have your laptop, or tablet there as well.

The skytrak improvement package for $99.99 and quality golf simulators make this an unbelievable experience.

Cons, the putting is not the best, but if you use a chipper, or get a little bit of loft with the putting, it gets the direction right, and you can get the gimmies within a certain range. The golf packages advanced features have a subscription as does the additional software, and the device needs to be exactly level with the bar when you’re striking.

Final Thought

Which device do we recommend and for who? So, both of these are quality simulators, and they’re very well priced for what you get.

The optishot is more for people who just want to have a fun home golf experience, but not might be too serious about improving their game with the optishot.

The skytrak is a personal version of the commercial Trackman, and it’s for people who were more of a budget, and who are more serious about improving their game with it, at the range, or at home, and they want to have fun and realistic simulator golf game at home.

So, the golf simulator packages that you can buy for the skytrak are far superior to the optishot, but they do cost a good bit more as well.

The optishot works better for people who are more of a budget, and as we say, who just want to have a bit of fun, but if you have a bit more money, you can really have a high end set up in your house with skytrak for both the launch monitor and the golf simulator.
